As I do not have the owner's manual I need to know if the 95 use DEX COOL (the orange stuff) or the older green coolant.
I know my 96 uses DEX COOL as does my 95 Blazer, so I am thinking orange, but the radiator is filled with green. So I may be looking at doing a coolant system flush.

Good luck.
Coolant - Prior to 1995, all Corvettes came with GREEN coolant. Do not mix Dex-Cool with conventional green coolants, or it will cause the mixture to become jelly. It's a real mess to clean up. There are new coolants that are compatible both ways, they are ok.
From: Why are there squished peanut butter cups in my underware?
Look for a sticker printed with info about DEX-COOL, on the passenger side of the radiator cover. If you don't see it, then it's safe to say it was a factory green fill.

Was not able to find the path to the owner's manual on the above link...can you give me a few hints as to where its at?
Oh and I looked and looked but did not find a label for the DEX COOL...which is why I asked the question. This is a new used car and I have no history on it, and its possible that the dealer put in the wrong coolant...I have no way of knowing. I was going by my 95 Blazer.
OK the DEX COOL was made not to eat the aluminum heads heater core and so on and the tank seals. The green over time will. That's why GM came out with the DEX COOL. If you have green in it now you can flush real good and get the green out and put the DEX COOL in and you will be good to go. and what ever you do change it at least once ever 2 or 3 years and you should not have a problem with it i have a 1992 Chevy truck that i switched over in 1995 and never had any trouble with the cooling system not even a water pump
Easy answer. Whatever color is in the cooling system now.....replace it with the same. Your coolant capacity is 17.8 quarts of coolant/water mixed 50/50. Do not mix the orange and green.

I use distilled water and good green coolant (Shell).
OK, stupid me....
My 40,000 mile '92 that I just bought got a low coolant light and I filled it with DEX COOL because it said for GM. I never thought about whether a 92 came with green or orange. Now my question... What should I do now that I have mixed it?

The '92 came with green. It's a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze. If you mixed the dexcool with the green you might want to flush it well and add the green 50/50 mix. the dexcool and green could turn to jello .

flush the system and fill with 50/50mix as suggested.
The GM plant where I work stopped using the coolant pellets in 1992. Why? I don't have a clue.
From what I understand, the radiator pellets were issued in a subsequent service bulletin after the Cadillac HT4100 engine was released.
It was one of the worst engines Cadillac produced, if not the worst engine in existence among all carmakers at the time.
The HT4100's featured aluminum heads bolted to a cast iron block, and the two metals heated up at different rates. Can you say premature head gasket failure in the making?
If I remember correctly the GM diesels of the time suffered from that too- (5.7 and 6.2)- what was GM thinking?
After 1995, the GM-issued pellets allegedly contributed to the buildup of sludge and goo in the cooling systems of Dex-Cool equipped vehicles, which may be one of the reasons GM stopped recommending them.

yeah, the 4100 was a crappy engine...

actually, its the other way around... the 4100`s used aluminum blocks and iron heads, like the old Chevy Vega engines....

both of these engines were iron block and heads.
the 5.7 Olds diesel was derived from their gasoline engines, and their head gasket failures were mainly due to weak cyl. head bolts.
the 6.2/6.5L truck diesels biggest problem was crappy injector pumps...
