I can tell you that I run a comp cams 1.6 pro magnum full roller rocker arm. I forget the part number though. Definetly top of the line stuff.

I have Crane Golds. $300, they are a little pricey but do the job.

what about any reccomendations for roller rockers that have worked well on completely stock heads, with stock studs, and valve springs?? I tried the comp cams aluminum 1.6 rr the red ones and had trouble keeping them on the studs, it was like the studs werent long enough, and they are stock, thanks again

I just installed comp pro mangnums 1.6 roller rockers on my stock l98 with new ZZ4 heads. The ZZ4 are the same as L98 heads except they have stronger springs. I think they have lt4 springs. The 1.6 RRs are quiet, I love em! The idle is like a mild cam. I guess my vette needed the extra lift. I noticed a big difference. Got the same kit you are looking at from Summit racing. I would make sure your springs are good before you install them.

I just had the heads redone (valve job, new springs, surfaced, valve guides) but I didn't replace the rockers. I wish now that I had. The stock ones are sooooo loud that I hear the ticking as I am driving down the street. Are we sure the comp cams will work with a stock setup?

Check out CNC-Motorsports.com. I picked up a set of nice Roller Rockers for around $200.oo and my engine guy was real satisfied with them. They have been working fine since the install.

I'm considering these for my 89 L98.

I'm not much of an engine guy, but I trust Ecklers, and these didn't seem to be a bad price.

the only bad things about those is that they are only a roller tip, im looking for a full roller rocker, i installed the comp cams red aluminum ones and had trouble, im thinking about getting the pro magnum 1.6's that were mentioned earlier...

Forgot to mention that the ones I used are the new self-aligning ones with polylocs and you don't really need to use the guides. But it will not hurt a thing to leave the guides on just will help in the hiher rpm range to make sure they don't float out. So far so good

PS don't worry about the color who cares the valve covers hide them.

What does this note on their site mean exactly?

"NOTE: 1994-96 requires head machine work to allow guide plates to be installed. Heads must be removed for this operation."

They are Comp Magnum rollers. They look like the same ones I got from summit racing. The ones I got from summit are called Comp PRO Magnum. The only difference I see is the Eckler's kit has guide plates. My ZZ4 heads and I believe all l98 aluminum heads have self aligning rockers and don't require guide plates. The price looks good.

Yes, and they will be much quieter than the stock stamped rockers. You have new springs so the 1.6 should be fine. Stock is 1.5. The 1.6s RRs will give you and additional .030 lift and about 15 more HP.
