When pulling off the Plenum to do some engine work, I broke the vacuum line that goes from the fuel regulator to the plenum. The GM dealer here says it is discontinued.
Does anyone have one of these they don’t need, or know where I can get one? I emailed vette2vette.com, but haven’t heard from them yet.
Was I just careless when removing it, or do these get brittle? Maybe I should replace the other vac lines as well? What do you think?
John: That vac line is formed to fit the Vette application. You could use any good vac line and just allow enough length of the line so that it does not kink and close off the air passage. NAPA sells vac line and so does many other part houses. The rubber compound in the vac line ages and becomes brittle over time. This is normal.
Yes, vacuum hoses do get quite brittle with age/heat. It's pretty cheap if you buy it by the foot and you'll get the added bonus of not tracking down a vacuum leak later. w/Warp 8 If you can't find the part, you'll be alright with just rubber vac hose--make it long enough that the hose doesn't kink.
