Default Help getting off harmonic balancer

Im in the process of changing my opti out and need to get the balancer off. Ive got a balance puller install but am havinbg to put a lot of force on it. Im nearly bending an 18" breaker bar. Is this normal?
I put the 3 bolts in deep enoough to get some clearence, is that ok Im assuming the hub behind it come off with the balancer. I tried wacking it a few times from behind with a 2x2 but to no avail. Yes i have the center bolt out.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

To just change the Opti, the hub stays in place. Remove the 3 bolts that secure the balancer to the hub and then remove the balancer. With age, the balancer siezes on the hub so it will likely need a little force to get it off. If you continue trying to pry the entire assembly off, you're going to screw up the hub/balancer at a minimum and risk screwing up the crankshaft snout as well.

Btw...although the hub stays in place, you may have to rotate it (ie rotate the engine) so that the Opti will clear the "fingers".

Btw #2...Before you ask, the balancer will only go back on one way.

The Factory Service Manual clearly outlines this entire procedure. You can generally find a like new set on e-Bay for less than $75. Your Corvette will thank you.
