Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (c4cruiser)
It's called a "delayed access bus" or something like that, and it's really  . Only problem is when I shut the engine off and I'm putting the windows up and the passenger opens the door before they're up :mad .
Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (91 black convert)
What's the problem with the passenger opening the door before the windows are up? It shouldn't stop until the driver's door is open, right?

Mine stops as soon as either the driver's door or the passenger door opens. Wish it was only the driver's door. Maybe mine isn't working correctly?
Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (Vince Ivanc)
They aren't broken. I would be nice if it only turned off from the drivers side opening but it would mean adding a second circuit to do so. Right now, opening either the drivers side or passenger side turns on the interior lights and turns off the radio/windows. They use the same switch to accomplish this.

Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (92TripleBlack)
guessing that you already know that the radio stays on until the doors are open ............. if the radio continues to play after you open your door then you have a bad or stuck door switch. you can try wd-40 but be ware that some door switchs are adjustable and if you lube it the adjustment will slip. I know this by experience. once the adjustment slips you have the reverse problem, the car thinks the door is open all the time,( or really only when you turn or hit a bump)
Good Luck
I read my owner's manual the other night and it specifically said "the driver's door". So that's how its supposed to work on a '91. (and how it does work on my car). Don't know about other years.

I realize this is an old thread but I'm having the same problem with C4 and I'm not very familiar with my car.
Where can I find the "door switch"?
Thank you.

HELP!!! I have a ‘94 C4 that just developed 2 seemingly unrelated issues.
1) The driver side door rear latch release stopped working (the arm rest button still works).
2). When the car is shut off, keys removed and door is shut, the radio stays on.
I had to disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.

Any ideas where to start trouble shooting?
Probably your driver side door ajar switch. I have trouble finding good aftermarket switches. Do the interior lights come on when you open the driver side door?

Yes they do. All seems ok, I tested the switch by pushing in/out. Interior light goes on/off. It’s got me stumped 🤔 .
Help, my radio will not turn on orange wire not getting power to aftermarket radio. Also the window is not getting power as well. I believe this problem is related. 1993 corvette. thanks
