If you mean overdrive then that's not bad a little higher then mine. Mine goes somewhere in the area of 45.

Is it shifting to high gear that comes at 50, or converter lock up?

Not a dumb question....actually a very intelligent question.

The shift to O/D is a little on the high side, but not terribly alarming. I would recommend that you adjust the TV cable. This controls shift points on the 700R4. Very simple procedure.

On the throttle body you will see the TV cable housing, and a "D" shaped button. Push the button in and hold it, and push the TV cable FULLY back into it's housing. Release the button. Now open the throttle plates to the fully open position with your hand. You will hear the cable ratcheting as you do this. Ensure that the throttle gets fully opened, then release. The cable is now adjusted, or more accurately, the cable is "set".

Now drive the car...and I'm betting your shift points improve dramatically.

If that doesn't help, Pete K will chime in...he is the resident trans expert.
