factory sending units are known to go bad and be inaccurate even when new, before worrying about oil pressure hook up a mechanical gauge and see what it says.
I have never seen anything like that in mine. In what section, chapter, etc, are you finding that?
I think it's in the front of the Engine section under "specifications" in my Haines Manual. I didn't look in my Helms Manual.
Mine is over 60 when cold but about 35 Psi @ 2,000 RPM when warmed. At idles goes to 10-20 sometimes.I ws wondering if I had a bad Oil Pump? The engine has 25K miles on it.
My 87 with 103,000 runs in the same range as Vaders, With only 25K on an engine I would expect higher at idel than what your seeing, but before I dropped the pan I'd hook up a manual guage, quite possibly your sending unit is in need of replacement...btw was your engine build clearanced?

It was perfect for 3 years..might be the sending unit....
