I have a batt charger connected so I can apply power to the car for long periods of time and I started hearing popping noises from the fuel pump relay. I have a LT4 stock engine harness with an intermediate on/off switch for the fuel pump. I think it is do to having the power on for several minutes and the pump shut off so maybe its getting hot??? . Thoughts?
Happy New Year
I would inspect the relay connector carefully and replace the relay to be sure. The early c4's had problems with the connectors, but the late years had a nice weatherpack connector.
An yes, last night was rough
But you're not blowing a fuse right? clicking at the relay is normal if it's actuated...popping, hmmm. Don't know about the LT4, but on my 87 l98
the insulation on the wires going into the relay connection had shrunk back do to years of heat and bare wires were exposed and coming into contact....easy fix with shrink tubing...surprised I didn't blow a fuse or have a fire, I'd take a look there.
