Default Cut-back plug question

I have read many of the postings about cutting back plugs.

I have seen several different ways to cut back the electrodes, both on this forum and on other web pages.

2. Questions:

1. Is there a consensus yet as to the best way to cut back the
electrode? (I've seen 3 ways shown)

2. Does this mod improve performance noticeable enough that I should
take out my newly installed plugs and cut them back? :D

My trap speed dropped close to 1mph when I had other plugs in and came back up to "normal" after I installed the used cut-backs. These numbers were after correction of trap speeds for weather conditions.

I like to use a cut-off wheel on a Dremel for the base cut and first cleanup. Then a fine fingernail file finishes the job nicely.

I think most people cut it so that the electrode is only covered up half way from the top.

I have just been investigating this. Either method that I have seen will help the combustion process. Rapidfire plugs actually come with the center electrode half exposed.
