Default Transmision whent Dead while driving!!

Hi I was driving on the highway with my '94 vette with around 70MPH on the speedometer and all of a sudden my Automatic transmission went dead! Just as if I placed it in Neutral!

The car doesn't drive on all gears including reverse!

Checked the transmission fluid and it was fine.

What could have caused this and how can I fix it?

Thanx

It is a long shot, but check the 3 bolts that are holding the flexplate to the torque converter. It is very odd to lose all gears.

time for a rebuild, check the trans fluid for a dark brown color, and a bad varnish smell ,but i would bet you your trans is toast, you burnt up the clutches in the trans, when you rebuild the trans it would be a good idea to instal a good trans cooler ,cuz heat destroyes a transmission

Check the plug that goes into the side of the trans to control it. Im not sure if unplugging that will cause loss of all gears but id check it anyway.

Once in awhile the rotor in the pump will break, and there will be no movement at all. Check to see if this has happened, by disconnecting the bottom feed line at the radiator to see if there is any oil coming out when you start the motor. It should come out immediately in a steady stream. Put a container under the line when doing this, you will only need to do it for a couple of seconds. No fluid means most likely a broken rotor. Transmission will have to be removed to fix this.
