Default OD vs. D -- Line Pressure

Do you guys get better times in drive rather than overdrive? On my Grand National, I noticed the car was a little quicker 0-60 in drive due to the fact that the tranny got more line pressure. Would the LT1 Vette be the same way?

Default Re: OD vs. D -- Line Pressure (Old Sport)

According to the ATSG tech manual for the 700R4/4L60...it says that line pressure for Park,Neatral,OD & manual third are all the same. It is, however, boosted in manual second and low.

BUT: You may notice a better quality when in manual 3 instead of 4 because the over run clutch engages in the lower range selection which helps the forward sprag and forward clutch hold. It does not engage in the OD/4th selection.

If thats your symptom, it means your forward clutch is probably wearing out. How is your trans fluid?
