Default VATs Ignition Connector

Any idea where I might locate/purchase the 2 pin female connector and terminals that are used on the ignition cylinder?

I'd really like to make a few pigtails for myself and a few other owners here to keep as emergency overrides. I know I can buy them already made, but I have everything else I need here to make my own...for a LOT less.

Thanks!

If this is the connector you're looking for it is was still aviable from GM a year or so ago. (something like $12). I don't have the part number here at work, but I can pull it up when I get home if your'd like.

The pigtail is #12085535. GM list price is now $21.90. If you just need 1 I have an extra one I don't plan on using unless someone around here wants me to put together a vats bypass for them. If you need more than 1 give Chris May a call at Superior Chevrolet (1-800-728-8267) and let him know you're a forum member.

Go to any "u pull em" junk yards. They are everywhere on any GM91,92,93,94,95,96 cars. Mostly on the seatbelts and visors (with lights). In fact, I beleive this is the most used connector on the 91-96 cars according to AC Delco.

Basically anywhere there is a 1 pair (two wire) set, they have that connector. Seach on www.acdelco.com with that part number. You will find over 10,000 application, listing the vechicle type they're on....

I like taking them from the visors because it's only 3 phillips screws. You must find the visors with lights. You need the PT146 because you column has the PT103. Here is some pictures:

Well for $21 or thereabouts, I guess I could just buy the bypass pigtail already made for about $26.....I kinda like the salvage yard idea!

Thanks to all for posting

If you are in a big enough city, just contact a few locksmith's who do automotive locks. They may have a few old used cylinders laying around they'ed take a few bucks for.
