Default Visual difference between Meziere electric WP

I am trying to solve my cooling issues during the winter downtime, and was thinking about my Meziere electric waterpump for the LT1. I requested the high flow version, but I remembered a thread today from a year or so ago about someone who was sent the regular flow version by mistake.

Visually, I see nothing to say one way or the other which pump I actually have, and the pics on Meziere's and Summit's website are inconclusive.

How do I know for sure without pumping water through it and measuring the gpm manually?

The high flow version is heavy duty and is longer by about 1.5 inches or so. It's very obvious side by side I just can't remember exactly what the difference in length is.

The regular pump (which I stupidly ordered) is about 1.5" smaller than the HD one. Maybe somebody here will have the actual measurements.

Yeah, I think it was your thread I was thinking of

I looked back at Summit and they don't list dimensions.

Will someone who knows for sure which one they have post the length?

I'll go measure mine.

TIA

If you don't get any answers by this evening, I'll give you the measurements on the HD pump I have. (it's in a box at the garage, but I'll be there later this evening). I'll see if there are any numbers stamped on it as well.

Of course it's always possible I got the wrong one too

There are no part numbers anywhere on it?

I quote the following from Meziere's web site:

Regarding the standard small block pump:

Amperage draw:
Under normal use the pump will draw 6-7 amps.

Overall Height Dimension:
The standard pump is 6.75" long from the mounting surface to the tip of the pump. The heavy duty motor option adds .5" to the overall length.

Pump Weight:
This application weighs 5.5 lbs.

Regarding the high flow sb pump:

Amperage draw:
Under normal use the pump will draw 11-12 amps.

Overall Height Dimension:
The standard pump is 7.25" long from the mounting surface to the tip of the pump.

Pump Weight:
This application weighs 7.0 lbs.

That should answer the question

jimg - the standard SBC pump is different than the LT1 pump, but thanks.

Mine's just a hair over 2 1/4" from where it mates with the original WP body to the end (not counding the little nipple in the center).

Anyone else measure theirs yet?

That would be nice. It says "Meziere enterprises", that's about it.

There may be one somewhere that's no longer exposed, but I was hoping this would be easier than removing it.

You've got the regular pump. My HD is closer to 3".

I just measured my HD pump. The body is 3" long. The bearing cap (the bump on the front) sticks out another 3/8"

I can only assume the numbers in jimg's post were including the water pump housing.

Hey Bro, got mine in one hand right now and my Stanley tape measure in the other. From mounting surface to the top is 3 1/16", color is black no numbers except the date it was made or packed hand scribed in to the mounting surface casing. Mine is 11 07 06, the only other marking is "MEZIERE ENTERPRISES escondido, ca"
Hope this helps.....

Of course now I'm pissed off because I didn't keep the receipt...

Who needs a regular pump?
