1988 Alarm Issues
The horn goes off every 2nd or 3rd time I open the door. I have to pop the hood and disconect the the neg on the battery. I don't know if it is a factory system or aftermarket. At 5:45 am it's bound to tick someone
off. The the alarm has a FCC ID # nothing that said Vette on it.

If you don't have a remote my bet would be stock alarm...I got rid of mine and went with an after market....couple things to check, make sure the lock is tight and not rotating and the key is completely verticle when you remove it....that is what at least one forum member reported when he had the same thing happening to him...he just fixed his lock and that was the end of his problem.

I have a remote, and I use it and hear the tone that the alarm is off.
I open the door and off goes the horn. I try to turn off the alarm and nothing happens. I then have to go to the battery and disconect.

Last night it went off again. I but the key in the lock (with the door open) turn the key and the horn stopped.
The alarm remote I have must be after market. I have no idea as to what the car came with from the factory, sorry.
