You can get the Comp Cams ProMagnum RRs in either self aligning not not, though if you want to upgrade the rocker studs to 7/16" they are only available in non self aligning.

This presents no problem though as the total price works out about the same and you need to pull the stock non-hardened guide plates (on Al head L98s) anyway.

BTW, the Comp Cams #981 springs (seat 110lbs at 1.70") work well with a stock cam & 1.6:1 RRs on my '88 L98.

Any help appreciated
I don't hink GM sells the LT4 valve springs/locks/retainers as a kit. But, here are the individual part numbers.

LT4 springs #12495494
Retainers # 12495492
Locks #12495503

Call Dallas at Van Devere Olds for a good deal. 1-800-362-9494

w/ much of the above. My '90 is alum 113 heads & I did run stock springs, non self aligning Harlin Sharps, 7/16 studs & stock guide plates/pushrods for a few years.

However, when I did a valve job I found the following:

stock springs were toast, about 60 psi seat pressure
stock guide plates are NOT hardened & had began to wear
stock pushrods ARE hardened & I used them over.

New springs, ditch the rotators, machine valve stems & spring seats for good seals, new hardened guide plates. Now things are

Ok, seems like I've got the rockers and springs down, but what valve stem seals are the best to use?
