Default front parking brake cable needed

Hi All
My 94 needed new parking cables all round and Donhall found me some rears ( thank you) but I cant find any new front parking brake cable suppliers? any ideas PLEASE, my one on the car has broken so it would be difficult to get a copy made and I think due to the metal sleeve fitted to these I might find it v.difficult here in the Uk

Default C4 Front Parking Brake Cable

Chevy has discontinued front Parking Brake Cable for 89 - 96 C4s. None of the usual sources have any, so I too would be interested in any help out there in finding this part.

Thanks

I had to reread this post... there is no such thing as a "front parking brake cable." At least not for a Vette... an old Saab, perhaps, but not a Vette.

Depending on the situation, the cable might be saved. I would suggest removing it from the car, then hanging it on the wall and spraying it with a good penatrating oil. That might just get the job done...

Otherwise, you may want to contact Jason at www.vette2vette.com for a good used part.

Thank you for your suggestion. You are right, "there is no such thing as a "front parking brake cable." At least not for a Vette" The part has been discontinued. You might want to go to this link to see a non-existent discontinued front parking brake cable.

I know this will sound crazy at first but I suspect that if you take your broken cable to a bicycle shop (shoppe?) that they will be able to make a custom one for you.

When I posted, I looked up "front brake cable" in the gmpartsdirect catalog, and I got a P/N 10113015 which is described as "Parking Brake Cable" for 90-96, and is in stock.

the description is misleading. It is actually the FORWARD parking brake cable. This is the one from the lever to the lateral rear cable.

Thank You. That is the part number, however, although many companies show the part as in stock on their websites, a call to confirm seems to always result in the part being not available. I continue to diligently pursue my thus far unsuccessful search.

I was just shopping for something else and noticed that partsamerica carries the front cable. $7

Over the years, a lot of parts were discontinued for the C2 Corvette (although, you would be amazed how many parts are still available at a GM parts counter).
For the C2, the after-market has stepped in and just about everything is available somewhere today.
You can just about get every part to build a C2 from scratch today -- I think the only part not being done is the "bird cage."
You can now buy a complete brand new C2 frame done with the original GM tooling for about $5K.

So, I expect that someone will step in and make the front cable at some time.

I would try Van Steel or the several vendors that deal with making aftermarket brake parts specifically for the Corvette -- Like Vette Brakes and Products.
