To reset the oil light, put the key in the ignition and turn to accessory setting (but do not start the car) Push the English/Metric button twice and then push and hold the "Gauges" button. The "Change Oil" light will flash for about 15-20 seconds and then go out. Release the button and turn key off.

This should fix ya up!

I agree.

1. Turn the key to “Run,” but don’t start

2. Press “ENG MET” on the Trip monitor Then, within five seconds,
press it again.

3. Within five seconds, press and hold
“GAUGES” on the Trip Monitor. The “CHANGE OIL” light should flash.

4. Hold the “GAUGES” button until the “CHANGE OIL” light stops flashing
and goes out.

This should take about ten seconds.
When the light goes out, the monitor is reset. If the monitor doesn’t reset, turn the ignition off, then try again.

The above posting is correct. But to the original poster I do recommend that you spend a buck and visit www.helminc.com .

Loosen up the purse strings and buy at least the owner's manual. I recommend the "full boat" shop manuals if you can swing it.

Both are full of terrific information that will help you enjoy your vehicle.

Yes, at last resort, disconnect the negative battery terminal for a minute, then reconnect it.

That should do it. (fingers crossed)

Or, in this instance, check your OWNER'S MANUAL for FREE. The oil service light re-set instructions are in there.

Does the light flash? If it flashes and is not going out, you may not be holding the button down long enough, it does seem to take forever when you are staring at the light flashing. Just make sure the light stops flashing before you let go of the button.
