My drivers slide wiper clunks loudly during a normal operation cycle upward on my 1990 coupe. Anybody seen or heard for that matter this issue before? It sounds like something is bent and/or is catching? Goldcylon

Are the blades hitting each other, if so mine do too. It sounds like a common problem when I got mine the previous owner had installed one on the driver side that was about an inch shorted than stock. I put the recomended size in and now they hit once in a while. If you do a search there was a thread a while back that gave part numbers of the wiper arms off newer Vettes, you could get a set of them if you like. GM must have noticed the problem too after several years sence they felt the need to tweek the arns a bit.

Nope the blades do not hit, just makes a clunking noise like something is bent or catching
I had the same problem with my 94 last week. The nut that attached the pivot arm to the motor was loose. Tightened up and it did the trick!! Good luck!

Thanks I will have to look at that! Where is that nut located? Goldcylon

Take off that plastic mesh stuff and you will see the 4x10mm nuts that adjust the wiper on the arm....follow it towards the motors and you should feel the nut. (It is parallel with the firewall). I think it was around a 13mm. Let me know if this helps...Good luck!!
