Is this a common problem withr C4's? Both louvers on my 93 are cracked up at the top where it bolts in. Does anyone have a fix for this? I'd like to order a new set, have them painted and installed but in such a way where this won't happen again. Perhaps rubber bushings to let the louver float. I also noticed that the crack seperates slightly further when on a 2 post lift. I was told to leave the hood open when on a lift but I nver thoguht these cars flex that much.

Very common on the "plastic" 91-6 covers I think it's more bad material than improper mounting. Alot of people probably have the problem, just haven't noticed it yet. Eventually it will crack down past the molding mark.
May not be common to break, but 2 things come to mind: first, the roadster is, of course, a bit more flexible than even the coupes with roof panel removed.
And second, my new-in-'93 side gill cracked the day after I bought it with the roof unremoved.
Dealer replaced, naturally, for free. It could be a good idea to allow more room for it to move around a bit, rather than tightening them down.

Actually the roadster is much stiffer than a coupe with the top out. Unless the coupe in question has added the equivalent of the X-brace.
