If you have an automatic trans, and it is a coupe, 2.59 is the standard rear ratio. 3.07 is the performance ratio.

It has to do with the rear axle gear ratio. RPO #G92 says, "Axle, Rear, Performance Ratio." Because different years, transmissions and even body styles, in some cases, had different standard ratios, the "performance ratio" varies, also, and is not a specific ratio. The one ratio that can't carry the "G92" label is the 2.59:1. There are probably others, too. "G92" means that the gear ratio is lower than the standard equipment gears, whatever they may have been for that particular car. There will be another "G" number on the RPO tag that will specify the actual ratio.
