I'm just curious, I would like to have an msd distributor, 6al and a blaster coil, but the cost of these are abit high, so I'm curious if they really do anything different over my stock setup (msd wires and hypertech coil). I have a modified 383 and will later add a FI blower, will these make any performance difference or what? thanks
If you add forced induction, you will need some sort of high output ignition. Stock motors probably dont gain from aftermarket ignition.
This is just my opinion based on pretty low tech drag racing experience. I cant really back it up with data.

heres is my two cents, these little improved parts we put on our cars, might not neccessarily effect anything by them selves but when you have alot of improved parts on a car, the whole thing works better...
Example:
If you have:
MSD ignition
Good Fuel Filter
KNN Air filter
Good Oil
Fresh Spark Plus and Wires
None of these things will give you that much power on the dyno im guessing but when they are all together your engine is more efficient, and to me that is enoght improvement to get those things, i might be right might be wrong but thats what i think
I gained zero on the dyno going from stock to an MSD ignition box. The benefits are there for a forced induction or nitrous application, but on a stock car I don't think there are any measurable gains.
