I was wanting to step up performance a little bit. I don't know crap about cams on a V8 because all my knowledge is from motorcycles. I was wanting to know what part number crane RR everyone is running on 86E heads. I don't want to change out springs for now and just run the stock springs then soon just get new heads with springs so the new heads would have fresh springs. I was wondering what would be a mild cam that would give me a few more ponies without killing my MPG or reliabilty that will run with stock heads and internals. Also what's the usual labor costs on installing a cam. I'm pretty sure I can install the RR by themselves since it doesn't seem to be too hard from the write ups I've seen.
Crane # 114132 cam - Recomended by Crane Cams w/ no reprogaming.
It's what I have in my 86, but have other mods too.
Crane roller rockers #10750, but I have Alum. heads. Might be part #11750 for cast iron. Call Summit Racing.
Thanks for the info.
Are you sure that cam will work with my 86E because I just checked summit and it has posted for 87 and up Gen I SBC. Also what kind of gain did you get with this cam. Thank you for your help.
