Default Cam Swap

Doing a rebuild on my '85 and wanting to swap to a slightly more mild cam. I found what looks to be a knock sensor on the lower right side of the block. My question is will this throw a cel? If so, is it possible to some how bypass??

Thanks guys.

Default knock sensor

it will only throw a code if your engine is detonating, and then the computer will retard the timing to eliminate the detonation.
Not something u need if doing a quarter mile, but something u need if it's a daily driver.

Agreed. Its a non-issue on an '85. The OBDII motors will sense lots of cam lope and think it is a misfire, but the TPI ecm isn't that sophisitcated.

There is definately something to be said for a dumb ECU. :-)

I would suggest a chik to go with your cam. PCM4Less could do a chip based off yoru mods. This will help you get the most out of the cam.
