Fuel Pressure Question??? help me out
I just bought an accel adj fuel press regulator.. I installed it and then checked the fuel pressure. I know that we usually run it at 44-45 Psi, but mine will not let me turn it down more than 47 psi. It runs awesome, but am I hurting anything...help if you can. Thank you..

What was the original (stock) pressure? That should be the starting point.
A thinner disk inside the AFPR lid may help, but not too thin so as to be flimsy.
Use a scan tool on the ALDL or measure O2 sensor voltage on a WOT pass to get some idea of A/F.
The ECM should provide the correct A/F at part throttle; but excessive FP may cause a little loss of power at WOT.

the stock pressure was around 43psi...everything seems fine though. I doesnt drop off at any rpm. Maybe my car runs at 47psi. Thanks for the input..

Mine ran ok at 50 on the dyno at Carlisle, but was told I was runnin too rich by the dyno guy. It is down to 47 now, and just passed the rolling emmissions test with flying colors. You are of course, taking the vacumn hose off while reading pressure and closing the hose to the plenumn. Moral is you can run too rich and be ok. Just not really tuned great.
