Default ALDL connector

I have no H pin in my ALDL connector !
This is on a 1989 model... the book says to use the A and H pins to pull and clear codes... is this wrong ?

I found a broken wire at the relay and fixed that, but now I can't clear the codes... this really sucks !

For your ALDL simply jumper A&B (upper right) and turn on the ignition key; then count the SES flashes to get the codes.

To clear the codes, simply open the connection in the large Orn wire comming off the battery for a minute. This is the power connection to the ECM only and opening it will NOT effect your clock or radio presets.

I forgot to mention... I am wanting to pull the ABS codes, sorry. The book say 86 to 91 cars use A & H to pull codes. The H pin is empty in my 89 car.

The H pin is empty on my '88 too and the FSM shown no connection there.

You have a response to your message too.

From a brief read on ABS in my '88 FSM it looks like any ABS diagnostics require connection of a specialized ABS testor.

If you like I can take pics of the ABS diagnostic pages of my FSM and email to you. Shoot me an email to jgkov@msn.com and I'll snap off the pics and respond with them to you.

BTW, what color wire did you solder to, I assume, the Module Relay?

For 86-89 Corvettes, GM used the J35890 ABS Tester to diagnose problems. You unplug the connector going to the ABS Module, plug in the tester. It tests the module, can activate the pump and relays and also monitor the ABS wheel sensors as you spin a wheel.
