C4 Brakes and Clunk
This is the second time this has happened. I replaced the front pads in my 93
and now after 5000 miles they are starting to clunk when you tap them. I also noticed the stopping power is not what is used to be either. When I look at them I find that the retainer "pin" that holds the front brakes is VERY TIGHT and does not allow the caliper to move freely. I have after market pads in there (non DELCO) and wonder if that could be the cause. Before I take it in to have them looked at, here is what I'm wondering:
1) when you replace pads and put the retainer pin back in, should it be very tight?
2) has anyone else had this happen and if so, what was the resolvement?
Any help here would be very grateful!!!
As for the retainer pin, I don't remember how tight it's supposed to be. I do know that they should be fairly easy to insert, because the first time I tried it I tried putting the wrong pin in and it was very difficult. When I realized the error, putting the correct pin in was easy.

I've got four extra pins in my toolbox right now for my next few pad changes.
