If that is a catco unit - I have used one for that last 2+ yrs with great success - and eliminated the precats with longtubes and a hooker y pipe

I put one on my 85' and then used the later model Borla mandrel bent rear Y pipe. It turned out much better cause no flat flanges on the cat assembly. The Borla rear Y pipe might be somthing you might want to look at cause its much less restrictive. I found some OEM LT 1 mufflers that sound real sweet!

I put a Magnaflow main cat on mine and had the muffler shop cut the pre-cats off and sleeve the y-pipes. It runs and sounds better. Make sure they leave the O2 sensors in or your milage will go in the dumper.
