Hood Pivot Point Loose

Hood Pivot Point Loose
My 89 hood has a loose front pivot point ( hinge) on the right hand side so the front of the hood can be moved up or down about an inch. I had a look to see if it can be tightened but don't know how to do it, does anybody know anything about this point? any insight would be welcome.

Is it loose at the pivot itself? If so replace the hinge asm. on the side(s) that are bad. I don't think it would be worth trying to either replace the pin or trying to fill up an elongated hole. (It would be hard to get the alignment right and the fix to "hold" in my experience). I see your in Aus. so I don't know what the avail. there is. Here they're pretty cheap. I think I have a box of them!

The hood pivot pin on my 90 was a rivet and was worn. (Right side also). It was not as bad as yours, I didn't notice it until I remover the hood for some engine work. I drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a screw and nylock nut. I have not put the hood on yet so I don't know about alignment.
