Default Engine fan will not stop running

I have a 1984 corvette, the problem is that after i turn off my car, the engine fan will not stop running until after an hour, today after driving around for a while, I parked my car and the engine fan did not stop running. Eventually the car battery discharged, i checked all the manuals i have and don't know what to replace or check. any ideas? thanks in advance

As per all your manuals, circuit #335 can ground at the fan switch in the right head and/or at the A/C compressor. Are there any problems at either location? Are there any shorted ground wires? The relay could be stuck.

I agree with the stuck relay theory. If the temp or ac press switch were the culprit then the fan should not run with the ignition switch off. The below link will show you the schematic.

Default fan

first you have to determine which fan is running.
If the fan that won't shut off is the one you see when you open the hood, that one is run by the computer.
If the fan that runs is the one you can't see but you can hear, it's the aux fan.
1. first the aux fan..........
since the fan shut off after you parked it after an hour, open the hood, charge the battery, start it up.
The fan comes on, pull the wire off the sensor in the left head in between the cylinder #1 AND #3.
If the fan stops, it's the sensor in the head, if it keeps running, it's the relay.
2. Main fan.....
If the main fan that you can see comes on, there is a relay on the left inside wheel well, just lean in, and look down past the master cylinder, and there is the relay.
unplug the relay, and the fan will stop.
then use Mr. Bill's checkout procedure to check out the relay.
The relay will have little letters on the relay indicating a,b,c,d,e.
use an ohm meter and 2 paper clips. remove the relay, prop it up so you can see the connector.
take the meter leads and clip them onto the paper clips straightened out, touch the leads to pin A and C. there should be continuity. If there's no continuity, touch the leads to E and A. If there's continuity, the relay is stuck in the on position.
touch the leads to pins D and F, and you should read the relay pull in coil resistance.

The 84 does not have an aux fan. I just looked in my manual and under the hood to confirm.
