Putting my engine back together after replacing the opti and I came accross something strange. The throttle cable bracket has aluminum adapters that shift it about 1/2in forward to the throttle body. Did someone put these on or are they factory. I can't seem to find anything in the shop manual. I just can't believe the factory would do this instead of having the throttle cable bracket mounting holes in the correct space. thanks in advance for the replys
Im not getting it, im not hearing what your saying...
I have 3 spacers/adaptors between my throttle cable bracket and intake. One for each mounting bolt. Do these belong there or did a previous owner add them?

Please post a picture. I have replaced my cables on my 96 LT4 (unhook them from the cruise control). My bracket mounts on three holes on the intake and has two places to install the cable . Mine is installed in the one closest to the intake. The second one is lower down and it moves the cable towards the drivers side about a 1/2 inch.
Mine is just like yours. I guess you mean there are three mounting points on the one bracket that holds the throttle cable housing on the intake. Kind of over kill? My bracket is flush against the intake at the three bolt holes. One bracket with two places to mount the cable housing and three bolts with no adaptors??? I do not see what you are talking about in the picture. And I have removed my bracket to clean under it when I installed my new cable housing. There is a square button on the cable that lets you adjust the length so you can adjust for WOT.

Reason: Looked at my bracket in the day light.
Thanks for the pics Corvetteronw. I will be mounting mine back up without the adaptors and see if i have full throttle movement.
meffordg, the opti install wasn't too bad. I went ahead and pulled everything off the front of the engine, pull the oil pan, intake, etc so I could replace all the gaskets and hoses. I couldn't believe how many oil leaks this car had compared to my 90. I also went ahead and did the electric waterpump conversion since I had it all apart and added Melrose longtubes with their header to muffler system connected to corsa mufflers. I should have it running by next weekend.
Those spacer/adapters might have been needed/used from a previous nitrous install. If there was a nitrous plate installed between the throttle body and the front of the intake then those adapters might have been needed to shift the throttle cable mounting bracket forward the needed 1/2 inch to account for the 1/2 inch nitrous plate.
