Default 1996 courtesy lights still on

help, i checked all of the suggestions that i received before and still can't
figure it out. my courtesy lights stay on for 15 min.(my last post i said that
they wouldn't shut off at all, but after working on it for a while i discovered
if you have the patience to stand and wait they will shut off) I have checked
door switches, relays, hatch switch, door lock switches, etc. any suggestions ?
thanks, Paul

Try manually pushing each switch in turn to see if they will turn off in like 30sec. A switch could be borderline.

Look under your dash, above the passenger knees under the dash is the timer for your courtesy lights, it is white plastic and you can tell it by unplugging it and all courtesy lights will go off, replaced mine (mine wouldn't shut off) and everything is ok now, cost about $20

you have a bad switch ...... the ECM will time out in 15 to save the battery. the hatch switch is good because the time out dose not work for open hatch.
