The caliper rattle is very annoying.Last year or so ,I had the front calipers
rebuilt, new pistons, seals, etc. Brakes work great, stop on a dime. Took off
the caliper tonight and measured with a scale the inside piston diameter.
It measures approximately 1.200 inches. The pad tangs are about 1.100!!
The outer pad fits tightly in the caliper, the inside is just sloppin around
in the piston. Did i get the wrong pads or what?? Both tangs are the
same on both pads. So both would stay tight in the outside of the
caliper but not the inside. I have the anti-rattle clips as well and new
pin and cir-clip. Can someone measure the I.D. of their pistons???

Well, I measured the pads and calipers today. The crowns on the pads were about 1.113" diameter. Couldn't measure the piston diameter very precisely since my micrometer wouldn't fit, but it's also about 1.10" diameter (definately not 1.20"). The holes on the outboard side of the caliper are about the same.
So it sounds like whoever rebuilt your calipers used the wrong pistons. Hope that is helpful.
