Pete,
I think the original poster is planning a street/strip type 355/383 w/ a superram? which I do think for the price the Jeg's Heads are a pretty good value. The other nice thing is that Jeg's is one of the largest performance stores in the country with a great reputation. I have seen the heads and they look top notch. I would run them if the rules would allow but I'm stuck paying $1400 just to port my 113's to get the same #'s.

Am I correct w/ your build Glen??

I agree. I thought he was changing the plan to a bigger cube motor based on this last post. I just wanted to be sure he aware that moving up the cubes involves bigger heads as well.

Pete,

basically so it is a total torque monster. it's gonna be in and done with by 6,000rpm, peaking at 5500 actually. i dont wanna rev it any higher for a true street car. torque will be overly abundant (over 500ft/lbs est from 2000 to 5200rpm) and the curve is damn near flat. if i was building an all-out motor you're right, minimum 210cc...

My builder often assembles 434 street motors and tells me that he feels 230 intake runners are often quite small. My buddy Tom has a 436 (.040 over) and runs a ported set of brodix 227 cc runners. Even after extensive port work, very responsive and great street manners.

Bigger the cubes, the more head, and cam you need to make it rev.

If you ever put a 180cc head on a 421 or a 434, there is no way it would rev close to 6000 imo. It would choke the chit out of it.
