How do you get the sunvisor off of a 94 coupe
I took the top off and the cover exposing the little nut and removed the nut
Now how do you get the sunvisor out so you can remove the header
(the piece that goes all the way across the top of the windshield that the sunvisors and rear view mirror go through)
The FSM really doesnt help here
Thanks for your help
I didnt want to force it down Worried about breaking
it
Remove the nut (if it has one) then carefully remove the clip, it is under spring load. I use a flat bllade screwdriver and pry around it. Cover it with a rag so you don't spend the rest of the day looking for it. The visor should then drop out of the bottom as far as the wire will let it. Pm me if you want.
After removing clip and spring, you might need to tap the end of the stem with a hammer. It should then fall out easily enough, so have one hand on the visor.
I personally had more problems installing the new visor. For me, the key to compressing the spring until the clip held was to use a 10 mm socket over the clip and to compress the spring using a large quick clamp used for wood working and other projects. (Like a G or C clamp but with a sliding adjustment for the lower arm.) This has nice large rubber pads top and bottom. If you need to buy more clips at the hardware store or elsewhere, buy a few extra just in case.
Thanks guys
I actually threaded the spring retainer off after taking the nut off
and the visor fell right out
Also this saved the spring retainer so all I had to do was push it back on and it held
