Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Area Question about Chip Programming. (Andy1983)
Contact Craig Marcho, cmarcho@swbell.net he burnt a chip for me. He is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He writes on this forum as is quite knowledgable in the area of programming. Bill
Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Area Question about Chip Programming. (Andy1983)
FWIW a 95 is going to be a flash OBDI computer - no chips to replace.
96 is going to be flash OBDII computer. No chips either, but a more complicated programming package is required. I think it would be worth your time to make the trip up to tulsa for an ed wright dynotune; if you want max performance and drivability.
Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Area Question about Chip Programming. (Andy1983)
Andy, I got your email! The 95 will need a program like LT1Edit to flash the chip in the PCM. I don't have the capability to do that right now.... Ed Wright is a good place to send it off to. Like Chris Houston (Vette92) said, Ed re-did his three times to fine-tune it. He'd probably be a good place to start.
Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Area Question about Chip Programming. (Vette92)
List of mods-
3.54 Rear Gears
Corsa Cat-back (Don't think that matters)
Hyperech 160 degree Thermostat
Jacobs Spark Plug wires
Mid America's Shift Plus Shift Control
SLP Cold Air Intake (w/ 3 K&Ns)
Throttle body Flow booster (Why did I even say that? :D )
Throttle Body Coolant Bypass
Vigilante Torque Converter w/ 2600 RPM Stall
That is all that is there. If I had everything there but the Torque Converter, Hypertech would be perfect. Unfortunately, I am getting a TC. Think I should still stick to hypertech? Or get it redone?
LT1 edit was mentioned above, and is an excellent tool - but unless you have a good bit of experience with tuning you need to be prepared to spend *many* days getting your car dialed in, as well as wideband dyno time.
Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Area Question about Chip Programming. (Andy1983)
I had said before that the TC will change the load and therefore optimized fuel and spark could be useful. But for your application, put in the TC and use somebody's hpp to change your gear ration and call it done. Look at http://www.tunercat.com for LT1 tuning tools.
