Default Proper Break in Process?

Ive been told to break the motor in I should (automatic) run the motor up in a gear to around 2.5k 3k letting it pull itself down. This caused back pressure and let the valve seals seat or something.... I also wont get on the motor for a long while,3k being the top rpm I ever reach.... Any thoughts on how to do this properly.

Default heres how

dont rev it too high, and dont cruise at a steady RPM for too long, you want to break in all the spots on the cams and such, so vary RPM and load as much as possible. then after a few days, weeks, BEAT on it a bit.

Sounds about right. When you first get it up to temp and on the road, accelerate as much as possible without dropping a gear until 3000. Then, coast down and do it again, and again... A dozen repititions seats the rings. Don't go past say 3000 for the first 500 miles, 4500 for the next 500. Change the oil once or twice in the first 1000 miles. But, some people say break it in like you're going to drive it.

I was told by an engine builder to run it at 2500 rpm for about 25 min. then drive it like normal.

You do not need to worry with revving the engine up on first run in...because that is only to seat flat tappet cam lifters correctly...if running a roller cam, that is unnecessary.

I would keep RPM's low the first hundred miles, then change the oil, and drive like normal. Personally, I would definitely use synthetic oil the whole time. I'm done with regular oil.
