to be honest, on the street, those differences won't make much difference.
As for the track, I would go with coil overs. I am running the same KYB's you are... and I think that next year, I am going to get the coil overs myself. that gives you true corner adjustibility.
I know you can adjust the rear, longer bolts... but the front is not that easy. it requires a pad, and to the best of my knowledge, there is only one size of pad, unless you want to order custom pads.
next time, compress the suspension and let it come up naturally, then measure the ride height.
KYB shocks are probably half of your problem. I bought some new ones to replace the old gabriel shocks on my 86, and then my car was SLIP N SLIDE in corners it used to GRIP N RIDE. I ditched 'em ASAP for some z51 Bilsteins!
I replaced the origin shocks in the car about 2 months ago (98k). The car rides much better, but it seems "bouncy" on the highway when going over bumps. I don't like that. I will eventually get the sport z51 Bilsteins, but for now it is okay.
