Default Mahle pistons

I am looking at a shortblock that comes with these pistons. The discription says (Mahle forged with anti-friction coating) Would like to hear from anyone with experience with these. Thanks

Edit to add link to motor. http://www.golenengineservice.com/ht...rt_blocks.html Its towards the bottom. 383 LT1 supercharger motor. $3995.00

Mahle is premium piston manufacturer. They make good stuff.
A lot of high-end German engines use Mahle pistons.

I have only heard great things from Golen, as well.

Sounds like he is an excellent builder.

Also, from the main page, he states they are now using Loyd Elliot porting for heads...another nice choice if you decide to go for a long block!

Mahle also manufactures pistons for 20000 RPM F1 teams. I may be mistaken, but aren't they the OEM supplier for the LSX engines for GM? Anyway checkout this website, he is a well known LT1 builder that uses Mahle piston: http://www.karl-ellwein.org/EllweinEnginesHome.htm

Yes, when I investigated pistons, Mahle was at the top of the list as one of the most high quality, light weight pistons. Very expensive though.

I've heard nothing but good things about Mahle. They will be at the top of my list when I do a stroker.
