My LT1 is do for another belt due to age.
I have seen a few post on this topic before. Anyone tell me the advantage of switching to a single sided Serpentine belt setup? I know I will need to change some pulleys , but are the belts that cheaper to justify the expense?
If I stay with the double sided belt , which one is the best?
I have had good luck in the past with Goodyear "Gatorback" belts , don't even know if you can still purchase them.
Any ideas welcome.
this is the best bet, when the time comes to replace the tensioner and idler pullies, simply spend the extra 40.00 and get a new PS pulley. That's the conversion.
Considering the cost of the new belt, the conversion will save you $$ and angst... I don't know for a fact that the NAPA part is double sided. For reference, Summit was convinced that the belt they sold me was double sided, but it wasn't. AFAIK, it's a dealer only part, and not even all the dealers know that it exists.
