I have a few technical questions regarding the Dana44.
How many bolts is the corvette rear end?
How large is the rear end? 8.5"?
What size carier does a 3.54/3.73 gear require.
How many teeth and gears does it have?
How many splines are the axle?
I need as much information about the technicals of the corvette rear diff.
I just completed R&R of the differential on my 87. I recall (from my search for data) that this information is available at the Dana web site and possibly Tom's Differentials, as well as other places. This site has a great deal of information as well.http://www.imajeep.com/axles/axles_and_gearing.htm
Hope this helps! :D
I've got a D36 apart here...looks like the case has 8 bolts that seal the cover. It has 10 bolts that hold the ring gear to the carrier.
The number of teeth for that ratio...I don't know. I guess that would depend on the gear design/helix angles, etc...
Do you have a set of gears you are trying to analyze? Not trying to insult your intelligence, but if you werent sure, the number of ring gear teeth divided by the number of pinion gear teeth will equal the ratio.
