I have been using one since about 1992 with no issues.
I like to use stamped steel pans on a street car. If you do bump it on a speed bump, or something similar, it will dent. Cast aluminum pans are a great way to go, but I have seen a few crack open when hit hard enough.
The Derale is my favorite stamped pan. Derale should toss me a few bucks for promoting them so well.
My Derale pan is about 1 1/2 inches lower than the stock one. It poses no problems for me and I am getting ready to install a Kevco 7 qt. oil pan. My clearance is about the same as I had with my C3 with the larger oil pan, but I do avoid speed bumps.

The pans come unpainted. Because of this, I tear them out of the box, paint the pan, hang it on the wall and toss the box. I do not have the part number handy. It does have a drain plug. Nice piece.
