Well, I have been playing with the TV Cable today, and did the reset proceedure before i left work. I drove the car home and it was PERFECT. Then an hour or two later i take the car out, and it starts shifting later (way late) likes to stay in 1st all the way down the block. Something aint right. I parked the car at my friends house and i just drove it home, and it got a little bit worse. Is this cuz its cold maybe? Should i try changing the transmission filter and oil? Is it a possibility that the cable adjuster keeps adjusting it...something like that? Any suggestions, this thing is really making me want to get a manual and convert it.
TV cables wear out after a while, and this could be your problem. The farther in the TV cable is, the later it will shift.
Try opening the throttle all the way(car off) at the linkage and give the cable a gentle yank to promote it coming farther out than the self adjusting.
See if that temporarily fixes it, if so, then it gets worse, replace your TV cable, they're about $35.
