AFAIK, on the cars with ABS there is a procedure using a Tech II to cycle the ABS system so that new fluid can replace the old stuff in the ABS pump and valves.
If you don't do it this way there is s lot of old fluid that stays in the system.
I flushed the fluid in my '91 (has ABS) without doing the Tech II deal and it's still working.... but accomplishing the procedure is logically a much better way.
If you have no ABS it's a simple IN/OUT procedure.
There are some store bought pressure bleeders that cna be purchased fairly reasonable.
My old 'shade tree' mechanic procedure is to suck it out at the bleeder valves with a large syringe attached to the valve with a piece of clear hose.
WHen the syringe gets full, close the bleeder and empty the syringe.
Hook back up, open the bleed valve and pull some more fluid thru the system.
When it comes out clean, move on to the next wheel cylinder.
It's cheeepppp and it works and.... it doesn't matter which brake cylinder you do first or last.
Hardest part is to KEEP FLUID IN THE MASTER at all times while you're doing this.
