If anybody followed my fuel injector replacement here recently you might remember how the gas mileage was suffering badly after the completion. Played with timing, fuel pressure, replaced TPS, CTS, and the IAC. The mileage ranged 15 to 19 max. The instant mpg feature would only display small numbers. Finally, after reading several post regarding the O2 sensor, I replaced it. The mileage has increased drastically. The readings are back to normal, 16.5 to 29 mpg. Actually seeing larger numbers more than before the FI replacement. Just tought this info might spark a thought. Reading other posts sparked mine.
I have been struggling with my 86, trying to get it to pass NYS emission inspection. I have run many a scan, and even though the the 02 sensor appears to be good, I am thinking of changing it to see if it will help my "rich" situation.

I didn't think it could be bad. When I put the wrench on it, it fell apart. Made it easier to get off. I could get a socket on it at that point. It was only 40 bucks and well worth it. (AC Delco brand)
