Today while driving, the power door locks started going haywire.  The motors keep running, the door ajar light goes off and on, and sometimes the courtesy lights came on. :yesnod: When I got a chance to pull over and check it out, the key-in auto un-lock wouldn't work right, and the drivers door switch would only activate the passenger lock. The security light and alarm is also acting weird.
I just found out that the pins are adjustable  and breakable :nono: Now I have to look for something to glue onto the switch to make it longer :yesnod:
Oopsie. The switches should be cheap enough, but in a pinch you can space them out from the panel....
Loosen one screw on the switch just a little and remove the other. Place a washer (or two) between the switch and the door panel where you removed the screw. Replace the screw and repeat on the other side. Key is not removing both screws at the same time or you have to pull the door panel (easy enough, but a hassle) to get to the backing plate....
That's good advice about loosening only one screw at a time. :blueangel: I did find out the hard way :smash: that the metal backing plate is not attached to anything but the screws. :yesnod: :yesnod: It was a real PITA to get it re-attached, but I managed to do it without removing the doorpanel :nopity I didn't think of placing spacers behind the switch tho ... sounds like a good idea :yesnod: :yesnod:
