Gas Mileage

I have a 93 LT1, if I were to do a Cam kit, would my gas mileage increase, decrease or stay bout the same?

Are you talking about the GM Hot Cam kit? I've read that this particular cam doesn't affect mileage on the highway very much...and you lose just a little on the street. Mileage tends to be more related to how heavy your foot is.

According to my guages, staying out of the throttle has a most dramatic effect on my gas mileage.

I have a 96 LT-1, I can get almost 500 miles from a full tank (highway), if I stay at 70 mph all the way. If I am messing around, that figure can drop to 300 miles for the tank full.

I get about 1/2 mpg less. That may be due to fact that the extra hp makes me tend to stomp on the pedal harder.

My ~375 rwhp heads/cam 94 with 4.10 gears still gets 26-28 mpg's on the highway. This is with a 224/230 605/622 112 camshaft. It's all in the tune.

I'm only getting 322 rwhp. A good tuner should get me 10 -20 more hp. Plus, I'm lucky to get 20 mpg on the highway.
