do muffler eliminators, I did it to mine and sounds great! I also replaced the resanator with pipe, It sounds Awesome!
Where did you place the tips of the eliminators in relation to the rear bumper? Flush? Past the bumper a little? I got a pair on order that should be here any day.

Back to the thread topic.....
Cherry-bomb-type glasspaks are '50's technology, and not a performance muffler. Some of the louvered style glasspaks have internal diameters that are extremely choked-down.
High performance chambered mufflers (turbo style) are much better.
I had a pair of "purple hornies" on mine for a while i just cut the resonator out of the stock exh and welded stright pipe in and then cut off the mufflers and scalloped and ring welded the glass packs in their spot. The only problem is the muffler inlet pipes wheren't in the same place on both sides so my exh tips looked a little cockeyed. Sounded great though

Guy's, you really need to know something about flow dynamics to design a good exhaust system. It's up to you if you want to hang all this stuff under your car but there is a 90% chance your performance will suffer. Best bet, get something designed by an engineer for your motor.
