but i guess any where between 8-10 degrees btdc would be ok i guess mate!
i run 98 mobil/shell octane fuel !

watch out for possible low-key detonation that you don't hear.
i would hook up an engine analyzer such as tts datamaster to find out if and where you're getting knock. arbitrarily adjusting the timing curve across the board, at the distributor, and only going by the ear is a mistake imho.
i would keep it a 6 and forget about it, unless you have an engine analyzer to actually see what's really going on.
