1992 LT-1 Upgrade to LT4 Knock Module
Hi all,
Is this upgrade possible? I have a 383 plus alky injection and Vortech, and although I am running quite a lot of spark (36 degrees) at WOT I have a mid-throttle / mid-RPM stumble (20 degrees advance) which seems to be a result of false knocks. I have seen that the 94 LT-1can be upgraded; what about the '92?

I think you would need to upgrade to the 94 ECM and then the LT-4 knock module
I know of the fbodies the ECM was a bit different and u could actually plug in the knock module. The older 92-93 ecm I don't think have that option if I read up correctly.
not sure what's involved in changing over to a 94 ECM though

I bought a LT4 KM for my 95' LT1 after installing 1.6 RRs. I was seeing a little false knock and figured the LT4 module would help. As it turns out the LT4 module made my false knock much worse! Apparently it's turned to a different frequency, and closer to my noisy rockers/lifters. I went back to the LT1 KM. Changing lifters now.
