I read that the 85 vette fuel regulator is 30 lbs at idle and 86 and above are rated at 38 lbs. I was wondering if I could use the 86 to bump my pressure up.

not positive on the later stock regulators, but you are better off buying an adjustable regulator that way you can dial in what you want. plenty of aftermarket adjustable regs ranging from $50 $80.
I have an after market adjustable regulator but haven't used it because I am not sure the factory diaphragm is not leaking .The replacement cost of the diaphragm is as much as the whole new regulator thus the reason for asking about the 86 and later ones. Thanks
The '86 regulator will bump up the pressure. Is there a reason you want to raise the pressure? If you have determined that the '86 regulator will supply a better A/F ratio both during cruise and at WOT, do it.

Yes, my motor is not stock, it's built and I want to up the fuel pressure. I had my injectors cleaned and they flowed 27lbs at 43psi. The aftermarket diaphrams like Holley seem to be hit and miss as to whether or not they last. Some people use them and they are fine, others have had to replace them two or three times. Since the factory ones last for 100,000 miles, I would rather use the factory one.
